Norway: NOK35m biomass-fired plant ordered

Hotab has signed a NOK35m (€3.9m) contract to deliver a woodchip and bio-oil-fired heating facility.

ILC Construction ordered the plant to supply heat to the Oslofjord Convention Centre in Stokke, which is large hotel and sports complex that is currently being extended.

The heating plant will heat a new 1,600-room hotel and a 10,000m2 sports centre planned to be completed in 2020. The sports complex will consist of a full-scale ice hockey hall and an indoor swimming pool.

The new complex’s heating needs will be considerable according to Hotab, but precise capacities for the biomass-fired plant were not revealed.
