Germany-based Martin has scooped a deal to supply three grate systems to the Kawasaki-Tachibana EfW plant in Japan.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering (MHIEC) signed a contract with the city of Kawasaki for the construction of the Tachibana EfW plant late last year.
The three lines will be equipped with Martin reverse-acting grates and the plant is expected to start-up in September 2023.
In related news, Martin's licensee in China – Sanfeng Covanta Environmental Industry – has also been awarded 12 new projects using the same reverse-acting grate technology.
Of the new projects 11 are in China and one is in Thailand. In total, the lines will have a capacity of 10,750 tonnes per day.
