UK: HZI wins Aberdeen biomethane deal

Switzerland-based Hitachi Zosen Inova BioMethan (HZIB) has confirmed it has secured the deal to build a biogas upgrading plant with gas scrubber as well as desulphurisation and VOC filters as part of a biogas project in Aberdeen, Scotland.

In November last year, local authority Aberdeen City Council confirmed it had signed a £12.7m (€14.5m) deal to develop the plant with Austria-based Thöni Industriebetriebe.

HZIB says its work on the plant, which is due to be commissioned by the end of the year, will create a treatment capacity of 1,200m³ of biogas per hour to biomethane.
