Spain-based Acciona and Belgium-based Indaver have confirmed their contract to build the Ness EfW plant in Scotland is worth €400m.

According to a statement, issued yesterday, the East Tullos-based EfW plant will process 150,000t/yr and be fully operational by summer 2022.

Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council and Moray Council confirmed the multinational consortium had won the deal in February.

Precise outputs for the facility are unclear, although the company has indicated that the plant will supply a district heating network as well as producing power.

The new power station will create 40 full-time jobs. The plant is expected to be operational by January 2022 and fully operational by August 2022.
