UK: Lincolnshire EfW plant processes 1Mt

Lincolnshire’s EfW plant, based near Teal Park in Lincoln, has now processed one million tonnes of the county’s waste.

The facility is owned by Lincolnshire County Council, which yesterday announced the milestone. The plant is operated by FCC Environment.

According to the council, the EfW plant has reduced the county’s reliance on landfill by about 92%.

The plant is officially known as the Lincoln Energy Recovery Facility. It became operational in 2014 and plans were unveiled in 2015 to allow it to supply heat.

According to the council, the facility can currently process up to 190,000t/yr and has a capacity of about 13.1MWe.
