UK: 10,000 wildflowers planted at landfill for social media milestone

FCC Environment has revealed it will plant 10,000 wildflowers following it reaching the same amount of followers on social media site LinkedIn.

The closed landfill site is located in Pen Y Bont, near Wrexham, north Wales, and the flowers are also part of the work FCC says it is currently doing across its landfill restoration portfolio.

A team of 10 FCC Environment staff along with helpers from contractor Green N Clean, gave their own time over the weekend to plant the seeds.

Pen Y Bont landfill site has been closed since December 2016 and the company is now restoring it back to its natural environment.
